Description
Your child plans a short story, then makes it move by taking many photos of household objects nudged a little between each shot, playing them back as a mini animation.

Play guide
- 1Have your child sketch a simple storyboard of 4 to 6 moments the story will pass through.
- 2Set up a steady scene on a table with good light and a phone or tablet propped so it will not move.
- 3Your child poses the objects, takes a photo, nudges them a small amount, and takes another, repeating many times for each moment.
- 4When the shots are done, play them back in order using any photo or stop-motion app to see the movement.
- 5Watch it together, then let your child reshoot any part that jumps too much or add a title frame.
Success signals
Your child plans moments before shooting rather than filming randomly. They move objects in small, steady steps and take many shots. They can spot a jumpy part on playback and choose to reshoot it.
If it's tricky
The movement looks jumpy: Coach smaller nudges and more photos between moments. Your child gets impatient with how many shots it takes: Shorten the story to a single action, such as a toy walking across the table. The camera keeps shifting and the scene jitters: Tape the device base down or lean it against a stack of books.
