Play guide
- 1At home, check that your own lantern has a surface suitable for the markers you have. Choose three small drawings: heart, star and face.
- 2Add them among your decoration while your partner looks away, then hand over the lantern for the search.
- 3Swap designer and finder using another clear area or a sheet of paper. Make the clues harder by hiding drawings within existing shapes.
Success signals
The child creates recognisable hidden details and takes a turn finding their partner's details.
If it's tricky
The lantern cannot be drawn on: make a paper sleeve design beside it without attaching anything.
