Warm up for the Mid-Autumn drawing session with a tiny pattern puzzle. Each person hides one changed mark for the other to find.

Play guide
- 1Draw a row of circles with a small crescent inside each one. In one circle, turn the crescent the opposite way.
- 2Your partner finds the odd mark, then draws their own row with one difference for you.
- 3Try a second row using dots and short lines. Save any pattern you like for your own drawing later.
Success signals
The child repeats a visible pattern and detects a deliberate difference.
If it's tricky
Drawing crescents is frustrating: use a row of circles with one dot missing instead.
