Description
Each player folds a paper plane, then throws for distance or at a target, and adjusts the folds to make it fly better. Combines a simple fold-and-make with friendly flying trials.

Play guide
- 1Give each player a sheet of paper and fold a basic plane together, or let them fold their own if they know how.
- 2Pick a goal for the round, either flying the farthest or landing closest to a target on the floor.
- 3Take turns throwing from an agreed line and see how each plane flies.
- 4Let players change their folds (sharper nose, bent wing tips) and try again to see if it flies better.
- 5Run a few rounds, celebrating the best flights and the most improved plane.
Success signals
Your child folds along with you and throws their plane at the goal. They try changing a fold and throwing again to see the difference. They stay engaged across a few rounds.
If it's tricky
Your child's folds are uneven and the plane nose-dives: Help crease along the centre and even up the wings; a rough plane still flies enough to enjoy. Throws go everywhere: Mark a clear throwing line and aim at a big target first. One player's plane clearly wins every time: Switch the goal (from distance to accuracy) so different designs get a chance.
