Play guide
- 1Hold the bundle of sticks upright on a flat surface, then let go so they fall into a loose jumbled pile.
- 2The first player carefully tries to lift one stick without disturbing any of the others.
- 3If no other stick moves, they keep that stick and take another turn; if any other stick moves, their turn ends and the next player goes.
- 4Players may use a stick already collected to help nudge or lift a tricky one.
- 5Play until all the sticks are gathered, then count who collected the most.
Success signals
Your child lifts a stick slowly and steadily, watching the pile for movement. They stop their turn honestly when another stick shifts. They stay focused and patient across the game.
If it's tricky
Every attempt moves the pile: Start with fewer sticks and a looser drop so easy ones are available. Your child finds waiting for their turn hard: Play with just two people so turns come quickly. Competition causes upset: Play cooperatively to clear the whole pile together and count the total.
