Description
Your toddler pulls short ribbons that are threaded through holes in a box, a quiet hands-on task that lets them explore pulling and how the ribbons move.

Play guide
- 1Thread a few short ribbons through holes in a box or lid so a little of each shows on both sides.
- 2Knot each ribbon at both ends so it cannot pull all the way out.
- 3Set the box in front of your toddler and show one gentle pull.
- 4Let them pull the ribbons and watch how they slide and reappear.
- 5Sit nearby while they explore, adding a ribbon of a new texture if they stay interested.
Success signals
Your toddler grasps a ribbon and pulls it. They watch the ribbon move through the hole and reach for another. They stay with the box for a few minutes, calm and focused
If it's tricky
The ribbons pull out: Tie bigger knots at both ends so they stay put. They lose interest: Add a ribbon with a different texture or a bead firmly fixed too large to swallow. They try to mouth the ribbons: Redirect and keep the session short and supervised
