Description
Bring storytelling home by saying one supplied line in contrasting voices. A partner guesses the character type from the voice alone.
Cost: FreeBest time: Anytime
Play guide
- 1Choose mouse or giant. Say "Who is at the door?" in a comfortable small or low voice while your partner guesses.
- 2Swap roles and try a robot using evenly spaced words. Keep the words the same so the voice makes the difference.
- 3Let the guesser request their favourite voice for a final line, or add another voice you both already know.
Success signals
The child varies audible delivery and the partner uses it to make a guess.
If it's tricky
Changing voice is awkward: the parent demonstrates two choices and the child selects which to repeat.
