Play guide

  1. 1Choose one interesting object with detail to notice (a leaf, a shell, a small toy, a piece of fruit) and place it in front of your child.
  2. 2Invite them to look at it closely and quietly for about a minute, turning it over if they like. A magnifier can help if you have one.
  3. 3Keep the space calm and let the looking happen without filling the silence.
  4. 4When the minute is up, ask them to tell you everything they noticed, one thing at a time.
  5. 5Add anything you noticed too, then let them choose the next object if they want another round.
