Description
After the quartet, use a rolled sheet of paper as a pretend bow and follow three simple movement calls: long, short and stop.
What to prep
- Rolled sheet of paper
Cost: FreeBest time: Anytime
Play guide
- 1Sit at a table and keep the rolled paper low over the tabletop. The adult calls “long,” “short,” or “stop.”
- 2The child makes one long sweep, one tiny sweep, or freezes the paper to match the call.
- 3Let the child become caller for a round. Mix the three calls as quickly or slowly as is comfortable.
Success signals
The child changes the pretend bow movement to match the simple call and gets a turn controlling the game.
If it's tricky
If the prop becomes distracting, use one flat hand instead of rolled paper.
