Elbows Lead Feet Stay

Description

After Groovers, try a tiny stationary dance where feet stay planted and only one chosen body area intentionally leads the movement.

Cost: FreeBest time: Anytime

Play guide

  1. 1Stand or sit with feet staying in one place. For fifteen seconds, elbows are the leaders: move them up, down or sideways while the rest of the body may follow naturally.
  2. 2Next, rest hands loosely and let shoulders be the leaders for fifteen seconds; no stepping or spinning.
  3. 3For a final round, the child chooses elbows or shoulders and the adult follows the child’s speed.

Success signals

The child follows a simple movement constraint without needing to keep the rest of the body perfectly still.

If it's tricky

If standing is tiring, do the whole game seated with elbows and shoulders only.
