Slow Motion High Five

Description

After the movement session, see how slowly two hands can travel toward a high five without stopping.

Cost: FreeBest time: Anytime

Play guide

  1. 1Sit or stand comfortably facing each other with one hand raised and plenty of space between bodies.
  2. 2Start moving the two hands toward each other as slowly as possible. The rule is continuous motion: no freezing to make the round longer.
  3. 3When palms meet gently, swap hands and try again. The adult can count slowly to see whether the second round lasts longer.

Success signals

The child deliberately controls speed and shares a simple movement challenge with the adult.

If it's tricky

If touching palms is uncomfortable, stop with hands a hand-width apart. If slow movement is frustrating, count to five and finish.
