Description
After the show, use one simple line and let the face do the work: grumpy, cheerful or surprised.
Cost: FreeBest time: Anytime
Play guide
- 1Use the same neutral line every time: “The parcel is here.” One person chooses grumpy, cheerful or surprised and says the line with that face.
- 2The listener names the expression and points to one visible clue, such as eyebrows, mouth or voice speed.
- 3Change jobs once. For a final silly round, the adult deliberately exaggerates one expression and the child chooses which feature is overdone.
Success signals
The child identifies or produces visible emotional cues while the words stay constant.
If it's tricky
If three expressions are too many, use grumpy versus cheerful. If facial acting feels uncomfortable, use voice only.
