Description
After the Zentangle session, look for one repeating pattern in the real surroundings on your way out: paving, railing, leaves or lights.
Cost: FreeBest time: Anytime
Play guide
- 1On your normal route away from the session, the child chooses one repeating pattern already visible, such as railing bars, paving shapes or leaf pairs.
- 2Point to the smallest part that repeats and say it once: “bar-gap, bar-gap” or “leaf-leaf.”
- 3The adult finds a different repeating pattern before you leave the area. Compare which repeat is shorter.
Success signals
The family spots and names the repeating unit in a real pattern without adding another drawing task.
If it's tricky
If no clear pattern appears, use a row of windows or floor tiles and simply notice same/different.
