Description
Take opposite sides on one deliberately ridiculous rule and see who can make the stronger twenty-second case.
Cost: FreeBest time: Anytime
Play guide
- 1Use this exact rule: “Every Friday, people should wear socks on their hands.” One person argues yes and the other argues no.
- 2Each gets twenty seconds and must give at least one practical reason, not just “because it is funny.”
- 3Swap sides and argue the position you did not choose. Decide which single reason was strongest, regardless of who said it.
Success signals
The child gives a reason, listens to an opposing reason and can argue a second viewpoint.
If it's tricky
If twenty seconds feels long, give one reason each. If the rule is too silly, use “school should start one hour later.”
