Pixel Symmetry Challenge

Description

Build a tiny pixel-style pattern with coins or buttons, keeping both sides of a centre line matched.

What to prep

  • sheet_of_paper
  • 8_to_12_large_coins_or_buttons
Cost: FreeBest time: AnytimeCreates something to keep

Play guide

  1. 1Draw one straight line down the middle of a sheet of paper and place eight to twelve large coins or buttons beside it.
  2. 2One person places a piece on one side; the other places a matching piece in the same position on the other side.
  3. 3Keep alternating until the pieces are used, then deliberately move one piece and work together to restore the symmetry.

Success signals

The family creates and repairs a visible symmetrical arrangement using concrete spatial matching.

If it's tricky

Matching positions is difficult: use only four pieces and place them close to the centre line.
