Description
Before Gingerbread Man drama, fold a paper biscuit in half and see which parts line up. Make a matching pair of eyes or buttons.
What to prep
- Paper
- Pencil or crayons
- Scissors used by an adult
Cost: FreeBest time: AnytimeCreates something to keep
Play guide
- 1An adult draws a simple person outline on folded paper and cuts it out; the child opens the folded shape.
- 2Fold it closed again to check how the arms and legs match. Add eyes or buttons in matching positions on each side.
- 3Take turns pointing to one side and finding its partner on the other. Then use the paper character in ordinary play.
Success signals
The child compares corresponding positions using an actual fold.
If it's tricky
Cutting is inconvenient: draw a large biscuit person and fold through the centre to compare its halves.
