Description
After exploring children’s stories, make a quick bookmark from one strip of scrap paper and give it a visible top tab.
What to prep
- Strip of scrap paper
- Pencil or marker
Cost: FreeBest time: AnytimeCreates something to keep
Play guide
- 1Use a strip of scrap paper about as long as your hand. Fold the top down twice to make a thicker tab.
- 2Draw one clear symbol on the tab, such as a star, eye or leaf, so the top is easy to spot.
- 3Slide the bookmark into a book you are allowed to use. The adult makes a different tab and both test which is easier to find when the book is closed.
Success signals
The child makes and tests a simple useful object connected to books.
If it's tricky
If folding is fiddly, leave the strip flat and colour the top 2 cm instead.
