What to prep
- One sheet of paper
- Small piece of tape
Cost: FreeBest time: Anytime
Play guide
- 1Roll one sheet of paper into a loose cone and secure it with a small piece of tape.
- 2Say “hello” once at normal conversation volume, then say it again through the wide end of the cone while your partner stands in front of you.
- 3Swap speaker and listener. Decide whether the cone changed the direction or quality of the sound; no shouting is needed.
Success signals

If it's tricky
If the cone collapses, just hold the paper in a curved shape with both hands.
